Most people stay stuck not because they don’t know what to do, but because they keep replaying every possible outcome in their head.
Overthinking feels safe – but it’s actually just resistance in disguise.
It gives you the illusion of control while stopping you from making any real progress.
We overthink because we fear failure, being judged or making the wrong decision. But truthfully theres no such thing as a perfect start. The right time is now, but the “perfect” time never comes. It’s already here.
The more you think about something, like making a decision. The bigger it will feel, you will see more flaws, things that can go wrong etc. And the less you think, and the more you just act, the smaller it feel.
Taking action will give you experience, and will fix your hesitation. Problems you made big by overthinking, turned out to be easily fixed or non-existant.
Everytime you hesitate, your brain fills the gap between taking action and not with fear.
Start small – But start now
Stop waiting for a flawless plan, because it doesn’t exist. Start with something small, want to write a blog? Write one page, don’t think, don’t bother with perfection. Just write it and make it better over time.
Want to workout? Just look up a gym and apply for membership, now you’ve spent money, this is an extra motivator to go.
The point is: Action is what makes change, thinking has it’s place, such as: reflection, planning and learning. But the goal is to only think just enough, so that you start acting.
