Solitude isn’t loneliness – it’s focus. Learn why spending time alone helps you reset, think clearly and build mental strength in a world full of distractions.
We live in a very noisy world, people talking, notifications and movement. It can be hard to focus with all these things around you.
Today i want to talk about solitude, because when you’re alone – something changes. You regain focus and clarity.
Solitude is not loneliness. It’s when you’re comfortable with your own company outside of social situations. It’s a space where you can hear your own thoughts, without the noise of the world distracting you.
When you’re always surrounded by people, screens and input, your mind never shuts up.
You start thinking in other people’s voices instead of your own.
But when you’re alone – even for 30 minutes, things start to quiet down.
Shower thoughts. This is a great example of just this. You’re in a private space, able to think clearly. And many good ideas can come from just a quick shower.
This post is not about isolating yourself, but more so being independent. When you learn to enjoy your own company, you stop chasing validation. You stop needing approval from other people, and start to trust yourself more.
And this is also not to say that other peoples opinions about things can’t be good, they absolutely can. But rather to give your own mind a chance to think for yourself.
A little test for you after you finish reading:
Go for a walk without music, podcasts or your phone.
You’ll be surprised how loud your mind actually is – and how much it’s been trying to tell you.
